Abstract
Objective
Describe rare cases.
Methods
We report two interesting similar cases of ruptured sinus of Valsalva.
Results
2 male patients from Indian subcontinent countries who presented to the emergency department with shortness of breath. Their preoperative echocardiography showed ruptured right sinus of Valsalva into the right ventricle. They also had Ventricular septal defect (VSD) which were only detected intraoperatively and were missed on echocardiogram.
Conclusion
Ruptured right sinus of Valsalva is common in Asian populations. It could be associated with ventricular septal defect that could be missed by echocardiogram, so neeed high suspicion index.
